Defocus and see

June 27, 2011
The frame is part of the painting
The artist not separate from art
Every photograph has the photographer in it
Defocus and there — do you see ?

When you see a crowd where do you look

At the object of interest or the objects interested?

When you see people running where do you turn

Where they are coming from or where they are going towards

Defocus, and the whole picture becomes clear

it is not clear to me what you are saying in Defocusing.

-the most intruguing and difficult example you gave was: ‘when you see people running, do you look at where they are running from or running to?’

    i found that a puzzlement to answer…

can you say more about what you mean?

      Shira
When you de-focus, or step back from what is happening in any situation, you get a wider perspective, a more complete picture of what is happening.
But beyond an explanation from me, is the purpose of freefall writing as this one – it is to get us to begin a journey where we may not have a definitive answer, but we can learn about our self.
      Something like a koan.
      Enjoy the journey!
