What moves you to tears?

December 15, 2010

What moves you to tears?

What thrills the inner core of your being?

What brings you peace beyond understanding?

And connects you to the Self that you are?

Pay attention to things that move you, for they are a way into the real. No judgment, no explanation, no understanding. Just being.

For me, these words are a portal, which take me to another space and time on the portal of joyful tears.

They bring me to a space where a blessed one walked towards the top of a mountain, accompanied by those seeking the wonders of his presence, and sat with them, looking out with eyes of great compassion as these words emanated from his heart:

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

These have been called the Sermon on the Mount, or the Beatitudes spoken by Jesus, and are found in the Gospel of St. Matthew 5:3-10 They are beyond religion.

Thand you for visiting and sharing this, Jagadish.
This reminds me of a poem “and a meadowlark sang“. I see that it used to be attributed to ‘unknown’ and now is attributed to Ravindra Kumar Karnani. It has been a wonderful reminder that all we need to do is listen, look, feel for what we yearn for.

And also Kabir’s words that I read in school:
Laali mere laal ki, jith dekhoon tith laal.
Laali dekhan mai gayi, mai bhi go gayi laal.

      Interpretation;
The colors of the beloved are everywhere
When I went to look for [or at] them, I too became dyed in their glory.

Whenever I hear the NAME, not mine but living God, made my eyes full of water. people advised to check with an Eye surgeon as they feared Glaucoma but how can I explain to them, so I went to a surgeon and was declared it as allergic condition and nothing to worry. All other devotees understood it. Later I begged to stop this as people get frightened. It is unstoppable, it happens every time then and now.

Sanmugan, this is a blessed sharing.
And it’s humorous really, that some people felt uncomfortable by unexplained tears, and preferred to believe that it must be a medical condition!
Blessed to have others who know.
