The family of loving light

December 2, 2010

Wherever we are, in whatever situation, there is a family of loving light that surrounds us.

Sometimes one of the family feels the call to venture into the unknown, the darkness, to bring back someone who is crying out. The family of light unfurls like the fronds of a fern, connecting hearts and hands, supporting, holding, ensuring that the one who is extending outward, does not fall into an abyss.

When we venture into the deepest unknown, the dark plays tricks on our senses, fears and apprehensions plague us, and the one who went out on hearing the cry of a lost one, falls into the illusion that she is a rescuer, that she is alone, that she is forsaken.  Casting about in the chimera of a rescue mission she finds herself in need of rescue.

Budhha's Flame of love enlightens without burning

Flame of love enlightens without burning

That is when the voice of Buddha calls out, a clarion call in the dark;

No one saves us but ourselves,

No one can and no one may.

We ourselves must walk the path,

but Buddhas clearly show the way.

loving light reaches out

The Buddhas are a flame that does not singe, but lights the heart. This flame does not cast out the dark, but enlightens the vision that looks into it

For it is a light fueled by love.

There is only love.

God is Love.

The Universe is love.

There is nothing except Love.

Om Namo Narayanam.

Swami Shraddhananda

Wherever we are, in whatever situation, we are a family of loving light, never alone, never separate, always connected, always One.

O traveler, you are where you always were,

You are where you want to reach

The journey is the unfurling and unfurling of a frond

To discover the family that is loving light

As they say in science, all parallel lines connect in infinity. One light, many windows….
My parents told me in childhood, that in the beginning, there was a truth that was taken into the world; and as people evolved different cultures, the truth was expressed in different ways.
